OUR STORY
It all started over 20 years ago when we had a crazy dream to quit our Corporate Jobs and Start a catering business. We built our commercial kitchen on our property in Rosenberg and catered Corporate Lunches with various menus all over the Houston area from 1999 to 2015. We were always asked when we would open a Restaurant. The idea was certainly appealing as we loved being part of the community and loved the idea of having a brick and mortar location where we could serve folks daily. One thing we knew for sure was that we really wanted to streamline and focus on our true passion, Smoking Texas Style Real Pit BBQ .

When this perfect location, just around the corner from our catering business became available (2516 1st Street in Rosenberg), we took a leap of faith and opened The Witt Pit BBQ January 21, 2015. We are a Mom and Pop operation and as you can imagine, we didn’t have a huge budget to build out a new restaurant. We joined forces with Countless numbers of friends and family members who volunteered to help make our dream come true, and for that we are eternally grateful.

Many of you may know that this old building has lots of history and rustic appeal, so we kept the charm but made it our own, We worked for months to spruce up the place and make it feel like home. We also added a large screened deck that seats around 50 people and is an awesome place to hang out and enjoy your meal and a cold beverage.
The Witt Pit has grown leaps and bounds over the years.

We’ve now added our 3rd massive BBQ Pit and are building out a new Smoke Room to house all the Pits under one roof. Our goal from the beginning was to keep it simple. We make Texas Style Pit BBQ seasoned with salt and pepper, smoked to perfection over Oak. There are no automated smokers here !

We offer a Quick Serve Line (easy in and out). Our mouthwatering smoked meats are cut fresh on the block and our yummy sides and desserts are all homemade. We offer dine in, take out, and of course, we’d love to cater your next large event or Wedding. We are definitely family owned and operated and you will see us, and often our daughters Nikki and Jessie, working behind the counter or at events.
Our family loves to serve and give back to our community. Our loyal customers have made that possible and we appreciate you all! If you haven’t had a chance to try the Witt Pit, stop in and taste the difference. Our family would love to serve ya’ll!
